Enjoy
cycling along the entire 14 kilometer course. Get to any of the facilities easily
within the park and leave your bike in the parking areas at all locations. Bicycles
can also be hired in the park so please make use of this facilitiy.

In the Outdoor Barabecue Area informal barbecues can be enjoyed. Savor the pleasures of this spacious Park. |
| New Sporting Activities |

In National
Government Parks, anyone and everyone can freely enjoy a variety of sporting facilities.
Families and friends, even just one or two people, it doesn't matter whether you
are good at sport or not, you can still enjoy yourself, and new sporting facilities
like these have been brought together for everyone to participate in rich green
natural surroundings in the Showa Kinen Park. In the New Sports Area in the park, there are exclusive courts for 'Petanc', Croquet, 'Lawn Baowling', and 'Horse-Shoe-Tossing' and the starting point for the 'Disc Golf Course'. There is a stand for unicycles in front of the bicycle center at the Tachikawa Gate; these can be hired. Although they are called New Sports, they do have some tradition behind them, and are games which bring many people closer together internationally. So how about taking up the challenge of a new sport which you normally wouldn't have the chance to try out, and enjoy every moment while you work up an invigorating sweat! |

In
this spacious Showa Kinen Park, there is plenty of opportunity to encounter plants.
Stroll through the park in a leisurely way and you will get familiar with them. In the area of this park 250 species of trees, totalling about 570,000 are carefully cultivated. If you look between the plants and trees various features can be seen. On the route shown below, there are 20 location points. If you follow the numbers in order while walking along please take a look at the corresponding names of the plants. | One way of understanding
nature is to get close to it, and a suggested way to recognise the relationship
between nature's distinctive qualities and ordinary daily life is to have a 'green
adventure'. A 'green adventure' means discovering one by one the, as yet, unknown
joys and surprises in nature. This is an outdoor activity invented to get to know
nature, that is to say, plants well. There are 40 location points shown on the route below and if you follow the numbers in order while walking along you can look at the corresponding names of the plants.
